One of my favorite places to go when I lived in New York for my first year of college was a cafe in the city. It was always busy, day or night, but it was oddly quiet compared to the bustling crowds outside.
You could hear the coffee brewing, people typing on their computers or writing in their notebooks, the faint melody of ambient music, soft conversations, and the quiet rush of cars going by.
I always felt calm when I was there, and I greatly enjoyed watching all of the people walking around the streets in front of the cafe. For this project, I wanted to capture what it felt like to sit at a table there, all the little sounds you could hear if you really stopped to listen. I wanted it to convey not just a location, but a feeling too.
