Mike: The fluctuations between a lot of sounds vs. hardly any made the project more dynamic and interesting. Some of the sounds were a little bit disproportionately loud. In my mind, I pictured walking through a rainforest.
Rob: The consistent sound of the water running was good background noise for the other sounds. I think there were some too long parts that were too quiet, had barely any sound, or only one sound. The project had a sort of eerie sound that I couldn’t pin to an exact image, but more so a feeling of unease- very interesting.
Alkie: The dripping sound and simple music throughout the project gave it a very nice, calm vibe. I would’ve liked to hear more sounds used. The project gave me a meditative feeling, like sitting alone with your eyes closed and breathing slowly, or walking through a place that’s calm and empty.
Jeremy: I liked the amount of diverse sounds used. Some of the sounds were a little too loud. The project felt very chaotic in a realistic way, like taking a walk with a lot happening around you.
Cal: I liked the way the sounds mixed with each other and transitioned. The ending bit was too loud too suddenly. I felt like I was walking through a strange place.
Julia: The faint background music was done really well. The project gave me the feeling of being in a room with a baby, and a kids song/show playing in the background, and walking into different rooms holding the baby.
Hannah: The integration of the wind noises was very natural sounding, and I liked the variation in walking speed. I would’ve liked to hear more sounds during the first part of the project as opposed to just walking. During this project, I felt like I was hiking/running in a snowy area, possibly with a dog because of the bell sounds.
Caden: It did a really good job of being strange and unsettling. Some of the sounds could've faded out better instead of ending abruptly. I felt like the project was from the perspective of someone or something making/having a meal and walking around, but with a really uneasy creepy feeling because of the closeup heavy breathing.
Garett: The project changed a lot, which made it more interesting. Some of the sounds could’ve faded out better, and lasted too long. I got the feeling of walking indoors from outside, and everything getting more and more frantic and chaotic, kind of like the onset of a panic attack, then calming down.
Tasia: I liked the amount of different sounds used. A few of the sounds ended too abruptly, and one was repeated too many times. It felt like a day just hanging around at home.
Brendon: The project had a nice flow of louder to softer, more sounds fading to less sounds. One of the sounds ended and resumed too abruptly. The project had a lot of sounds that placed me in a house, but there were some strange sounds mixed in.
Jordan: The project flowed really well, all the sound transitions were good. Some effects made the sounds a little hard on the ears. I got the image of walking around a tropical place, indoors and outdoors, doing various things.
Jake: The effects were really great, they really added to the theme of the project. Some of the sounds didn’t fade smoothly. The project felt really trippy and disorienting, like doing normal things but everything seeming abnormal and distorted.
Maggie: The constant breathing really added to the perspective feeling. I think more sounds could’ve been added towards the middle and end, instead of just the beginning part. I almost felt like I was running away from the echoing baby sounds, in the snow.
Dzifah: The slight buzzing sound throughout created a good background ambience. Some sounds didn’t fade out. I felt like I was in a kitchen, but a calm one.
Michael: There were sometimes many noises happening at once, but it worked really well. Some were repeated a little too much. The project felt like a calm day sitting and working somewhere.
Megan: I like the brief spaces of quiet, they didn’t last too long. I felt like the humming sound was used too frequently. I felt like I was walking around a house near running water.
Gavin: Most of the sounds were softer and more subtle, which gave it a more calm feeling. I felt like I was outdoors with other people around, somewhere near water.
Jacob: The stuttering effect was really cool and created a feeling like flashbacks or flashing forward in time/to a different activity. The effect on the music was a little choppy. This project felt like a strange dream, the activities seemed normal but the effects made the whole thing feel really surreal.
Sarah: The distorted talking in the background was great because it sounds normal until you pay attention and try to understand it. More sounds towards the beginning would’ve made it a little more engaging right away. I felt like I was sitting somewhere with people passing by, maybe outdoors, but it was slightly dreamlike and strange.
Calvin: The constant dripping sound kept the project flowing even though the sounds kept changing a lot. There were some long parts with only the voices and dripping water that I wished had maybe one more sound added somewhere. I felt like I was kind of disoriented or “out of it,” like the feeling of being so tired you’re really struggling to stay awake and everything feels slow motion.
Alan: The variety of sounds was very interesting and dynamic. Some sounds were too loud, and some didn’t fade smoothly. The project felt like a dream, going for a walk with things happening repeatedly and everything going from normal to distorted and strange.
